An Afternoon of Frappes at Sweetbite L.U. Cafe

My love for sweets has no limits…

It’s true. Sweetness is my weakness. You cannot make me drink a cup of Starbucks coffee. Just give me a glass of frappes (yes, please!). Like right now, I am having a bar of dark chocolates as I am writing this post. See!

I’ve been forced invited by my cousin and nephew to try Sweetbite L.U. Cafe, which you must check out when visiting La Union. I guarantee you’d love it. That is if you are into sugar and fat haha. Well, it’s not bad to have a (insert hashtag) “cheat day” from time to time. Even experts suggest it once a week or every two weeks. Seriously, that’s true (Google it). Why? People who attempt to lose weight are tempted to eat this and that (c’mon admit it), and they’d end up eating more when they give in. So to prevent overeating, give yourself a little favor once in awhile (read this from Muscle and Fitness). Some of you may disagree, but if you have self-control, it shouldn’t be hard. As for me, I don’t have any issue with weight. I’ve been very tiny for as long as I remember. So, yes I can have my own cheat day anytime I want.

Back to frappes. The smooth, marshmallow-like taste of the cream down to the chocolate or mocha drink is satisfying. At Sweetbite L.U. Cafe, there’s plenty of frappe flavors to choose from. From plain choco to cookies and cream to oreo to strawberry, it definitely has something to offer that suits your taste bud.

It’s my first time to go to this place and I didn’t intend to order and taste each frappe available. I just wanted to give it a try and grant the request of my peeps. They went for the chocolate flavors, while I chose “Cookie Sorbet” as I thought it would taste less sweet than chocolate. My instinct didn’t disappoint!

We couldn’t just have a drink. I decided to get some blueberry cheesecake too (since it’s always a favorite) and a platter of sandwiches with fries. Trust me, the fries work in neutralizing the overload sugar. Unfortunately for me, tacos weren’t available at that time.

Other than frappes, this cafe serves sandwiches, burgers, tacos, cheesecakes, Filipino breakfast (such as tapsilog) as well as smoothies and juices.

As for the ambiance, I find it cute and relaxing. Both kids and adults would love to hang out for a couple of hours (or even more) here.
